Ali Nazmi, PhD

The Nazmi Lab

Research Focus: Nutritional Immunology

Research Key Words: Animal husbandry, genetics, mucosal immunology, host-pathogen interactions, vaccinology

Dr. Ali Nazmi was born and raised in Egypt. He received his bachelor’s degree in Poultry Production and his Masters in Poultry Breeding from Ain Shams University in Cairo. He moved to the USA to pursue his graduate studies, earning a Ph.D. in Animal Biology in 2017 from the University of California, Davis. During his graduate studies, he was trained in various research areas including genetics, immunology, microbiology, and host-pathogen interaction in poultry. He received 4-years of postdoctoral training in mucosal immunology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
