International Metabolomics Conference Hosted by Foods for Health a Great Success

On October 18-21st the OSU Foods for Health Research Initiative (FFH) hosted MANA 2021, the annual meeting of the Metabolomics Association of North America. The conference drew an international audience, with 445 registrants from the US, Canada, Mexico and abroad.

Foods for Health PRE Catalyst Award Recipient

Nearly $1.4 million has been awarded to seven interdisciplinary Ohio State research teams through the President’s Research Excellence (PRE) program. This most recent round of funding focuses on Catalyst proposals – supporting cross- and interdisciplinary teams to pursue large-scale, high-impact research that addresses emerging or existing challenges of national and international societal importance. In addition, these grants of up to $200,000 are intended for research that has the potential to generate long-term, sustained, and significant impact, and positions Ohio State as the leader in the proposed area.

Inaugural STARS Program Cohort

The CFAES Office for Research & Graduate Education is pleased to announce the inaugural CFAES STARS Program (Strategic Alignment for Research Success) cohort. STARS is a new initiative to identify and develop the next generation of research leaders among early and mid-career tenure track faculty within the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The goal of the STARS Program is to propel emerging research leaders – those individuals with the interest, vision, and motivation – to take their research programs to a higher and more collaborative level. Two Foods for Health core faculty members, Dr. Jess Cooperstone and Dr. Emmanuel Hatzakis were selected to participate.
